VP - Origination & Analytics (Energy trading & Optimization)
Job description
Key Responsibilities:
Build brand awareness through networking, developing sales and marketing materials, and managing opportunities.
Understand client needs and create tailored solutions.
Demonstrate value propositions, run demos, and explain benefits to clients.
Support the full client acquisition process, including pitches, RFP responses, proposals, scenario modelling, and contract negotiations.
Manage client relationships from onboarding to ongoing support, focusing on retention.
Support advisory services by qualifying opportunities, developing proposals, and managing delivery and follow-up.
Engage with balance sheet providers and tolling off takers to develop risk management and structured products (for suitable candidates).
Must-Have Skills & Experience:
3+ years in energy markets (business development, origination, trading, commodity markets, consulting, asset management, QSEs, or modelling).
Strong numerical skills and technical understanding.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and teams.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with keen attention to detail.
Self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and solve complex problems.
Comfortable working in a collaborative, non-hierarchical environment.
Degree in business, economics, finance, engineering, or a related field.
Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience:
Network within the US power markets (IPPs, developers, or energy-focused investment firms).
Experience in energy storage optimization.
Knowledge of risk management and structured product origination (tolls, revenue floors).
Experience setting up QSEs and onboarding assets.
Experience with analytical/technical pricing models and financial evaluations.
Graduate degree in business or STEM fields.
