Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Technical Officer

Location: Erbil, Iraq

Salary: £45,000 Base + 75% uplift - Subject to UK tax for the duration of the assignment

Work Rotation: 12 Weeks On / 3 Weeks Off

Security Clearance Requirements: Valid SC preferred – Must be a UK Citizen to obtain an SC, candidates must have a 5-year footprint living and working in the UK, unless overseas with the British Military)

Insurance – You will be covered by a life insurance policy for the duration of the engagement with the following also provided - Welfare/Camp facilities - Gym, coffee shop and WiFi & Accommodation.

Paritas is partnered with a leading global client that is looking for an M&E Technical Officer to join their project in Erbil, Iraq.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage contracts, designs, and specifications for mechanical and electrical construction, ensuring project risks are mitigated.

  • Oversee site-specific requirements, including material specifications, laydown, operative competency, and adherence to industry and manufacturer standards.

  • Lead the delivery of mechanical and electrical projects, ensuring compliance with HSE and CDM 2015 regulations.

  • Maintain transparent communication with all stakeholders throughout project execution.

  • Manage quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) across the project lifecycle.

  • Enforce safe work systems and conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality, safety, and value for money.

  • Track site progress and maintain accurate records.

  • Ensure specifications are current and comply with legislation.

  • Identify and address technical issues, investigate defects, and oversee repairs.

  • Manage personnel, equipment, and resources while acting as project, production, or site manager.

  • Prepare cost estimates within contractual deadlines.

Technical Skills/Knowledge:

  • Minimum HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering together with proven relevant experience.

  • Practical quantifiable experience in all aspects of Electrical installations

  • Experience in all aspects of construction site management

  • Hold valid DE certification of a relevant discipline

  • Hold a valid (3-day standard) First Aid certificate

  • MOD/DIO approved Authorised Person.

  • Hold an Authorised Person appointment in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline, as per JSP 375 Volume 3.
